To be a part of the United Equipment Accessories (UEA) engineering team, it takes more than technical qualifications and a good engineering background. For our department, and any position at UEA, the prospective candidate needs to embody our core values.
Daniel Hanawalt, our Business Development Manager, referenced the UEA core values in a post, which I have outlined below:
During our interview process we ask specific questions to determine if the candidates meet these critical core values. We don’t hire just anyone that may look good on paper. We hire individuals that are genuine in their responses and who have specific examples that show they truly meet our core values.
This may make the hiring process a bit longer, but the rewards for waiting to land the prospect that has all the right values is well worth it in the long run for synergy in the department and to ensure quality people will meet the needs of our customers.
Over the last year, the Engineering Department has welcomed six new faces - four full-time employees and two college interns. One employee, who already embodied our values, was promoted from the shop floor and has already been a tremendous asset for the department. The other new employees had to convincingly explain how they embody our core values in their interview. Since then, I can confidently say that they all have fit in nicely to the UEA environment and have also made significant contributions to the department since their arrival.
I am proud to say that over that last year we have truly hired the right people. If you feel you would be a good fit for one our UEA’s open positions, please visit our career page to apply.
