The customer wanted to reduce time lost due to adverse weather conditions and frozen conveyors. Adding a slip ring to the assembly allows the rotating conveyor pulley to be heated, melting snow and ice off the conveyor belt. UEA offered a small-profile, rugged slip ring design to provide power to the heating element inside the pulley. The slip ring features a stainless-steel enclosure to prevent rust. The slip ring is also sealed to IP 65 and designed with robust bearings, ensuring that the slip ring will run for the life of the conveyor.
