United Equipment Accessories (UEA) recently designed a new and improved slip ring for cranes. This new design needed to fit a crane that had limited space to remove the standard spun aluminum cover and also maintain the customer's sealing requirements for a wash down environment. UEA's standard wraparound aluminum cover would not meet the challenge at hand, so we designed a new custom solution.

At UEA we take great pride in our customer service department. While we have a specific department for customer service we also recognize every employee is part of our customer service team. With increased business and the addition of our hydraulic swivel line, the need to expand this department has been identified.

A new 62-circuit electrical slip ring has made its way through United Equipment Accessories. This S15C series slip ring with mounting tube assembly was designed to be mounted upright in a dual boom stretch wrapper application. Each boom section requires 12 circuits for power, 18 circuits for signal and 1 circuit for ground. The customer also requires an air-line to pass through the slip ring which required a special mounting tube and a ¼” pneumatic air swivel.

Looking outside on this blustery, rainy day, that sounds like a good plan. Not only do humans operate better in temperate conditions, but many mechanical devices such as seals, also operate better in mild temperatures.
