A variety of covers are available for UEA slip rings in several bore sizes. UEA engineers can assist customers by recommending material, size, and shape and by designing covers for customized slip ring applications. Some of our more common cover options are Spun Aluminum, Dome Aluminum, PVC Cover, Wrap-Around Aluminum, Clam Shell and Rectangular with Removable Side Panels.
Spun Aluminum – The spun aluminum cover design is the most common for our 1.50" bore slip ring series and is also available in our small bore slip ring series. This cover can be painted, powder coated, alodine treated or anodized based on environmental conditions.
Dome Aluminum – The dome aluminum cover is built for applications in humid environments, such as irrigation equipment. This cover is available in our 1.50" bore slip ring series and shorter 2.00"-4.00" bore slip rings. Based on environmental conditions, this cover can be painted, powder coated, alodine treated or anodized.
PVC Cover – The PVC cover is available in our small bore slip ring series as well as our 2.00"-4.00" bore slip ring series. This cover performs well in most environmental conditions.
Wrap-around Aluminum – The wrap-around cover design allows for easy brush access when space above and below the slip ring is restricted. This cover is available for all bore sizes. Based on environmental conditions, the wrap-around cover design is available in stainless steel.
Clam Shell – The clam shell cover was designed for applications where improved sealing is required. This design also allows for easy brush access when space above and below the slip ring is restricted. The clam shell cover is available for our 1.50" bore slip ring series. The cover material, polycarbonate or stainless steel, will be determined based on the slip ring length.
Rectangular with Removable Side Panels – The rectangular steel cover was designed for industrial slip ring applications. Each side of the rectangular cover can be solid or removable for easy brush access. Slip ring viewing windows are also available in this cover design. Based on environmental conditions, the rectangular steel covers can be painted or made of stainless steel. This cover design is available for all bore sizes.
