How Can Mounting Be Customized on My Slip Ring?

Posted on Monday, February 18, 2019 in UEA Blog

Many of the slip rings that United Equipment Accessories (UEA) creates are customized to the customer’s needs. We currently have three custom slip rings at different stages of the assembly process. While the circuitry inside these slip rings is similar, we created three unique mounting options to meet the needs of each design.

All of these designs needed to be mounted inverted requiring drain holes in the cover and sealed cable exits. One challenging element of this design was that the customer had specific requirements for the mounts for each of the designs. One slip ring required a 22.00” OD round flange and the other two required a 12.00” x 12.00” square flange.  A custom steel mounting tube was designed to be used with these custom-made flanges.

All three slip rings belong to our 4.0” bore “A” style series using 15.00” OD PVC covers. While two of the covers are similar to designs we’ve created, one of the three options created another unique situation, the ability to have a ¾” OD steel wire cable pass through the center of the slip ring.  A custom mounting tube was designed with a 1.5” OD pipe passing through the new custom cover to allow for the customer’s special request.

These features all add up to provide 3 custom slip rings that meet the needs of our customer. Give United Equipment Accessories a call to see how we can help with any custom features you may need!
