Hannover Messe 2011

This April I was able to attend the Hannover Messe 2011 for the first time.  Although we were not able to exhibit this year we were able to walk the show, talk with customers and get a feel for what this show is all about.

The show is considered the world’s foremost technology show and it seemed to live up to its reputation.  The size of the show is absolutely incredible.  The location in Hannover Germany would have to be one of the few places in the world able to support an event this size.  Even with over 230,000 attendees the show was very easy to get into and around the grounds.  It seemed to be one of, if not the, most organized trade shows I have been to.

There were approximately 30 different exhibit halls and with only one day to attend we had to limit that to a certain few that pertained to UEA.  The Wind Energy hall was extremely busy and seemed to be one of the most popular halls.  The booths at this show seemed a little larger on average and more futuristic and interesting than at other shows.   They are also a bit more formal than US shows as nearly everyone was wearing formal business attire.

After attending Hannover Messe I believe that UEA will be a part of this show in the future as we expand and cover more ground in Europe.   Hopefully in the years to come, UEA will be better known for our long lasting, custom wind turbine slip rings in the European market!
