At UEA, company-wide events are a welcomed break from our day-to-day responsibilities. UEA employee events are much more than just a chance for employees to gather together. They help validate our employees, promote creativity within our team, boost company morale, and create a more focused team.

We use our company-wide events as a way to highlight UEA's core values and culture. Our employees want to work for a company where they feel engaged and empowered, and employee events are a great way to engage and connect our team.

Some of our recent UEA events include:

• UEA Night at the Waterloo Bucks baseball game: Both employees and their families were invited to a night out at the baseball diamond with food, drinks, and raffle prizes.
• Tailgate Lunch: Team lunch to celebrate the Iowa vs. Iowa State football game.
• Chili Cook-off: Our annual chili cook-off is an opportunity for our team to have a friendly competition for the best chili along with time for celebration. This year we had 13 entries with the top 3 vote receiving prizes.
• Harvest Luncheon: At our upcoming Harvest Luncheon, UEA will provide Thanksgiving lunch for the entire team.

We host event throughout the year as something for our employees look forward to, welcome new employees, and help employees build connections outside their department.  People want to work at a place that stands by their core values and creates opportunities to reward and validate its employees, which is a focus for UEA.

Our company events help employees feel engaged because they are valued and can see the bigger picture. These events allow our teams to not only interact with their fellow department employees but all employees at UEA.  Even though each event takes time and energy to plan, the pay-off is seeing our team get to know each other better and feel rewarded for their hard work and dedication.
