3D Printing Face Shields

United Equipment Accessories (UEA), a Waverly-based manufacturer, is using its 3D printing capabilities to print face shield components to support healthcare providers in response to the COVD-19 outbreak. The face shields will be donated to Bremer County Emergency Management.

UEA recently added 3D printing capabilities as a way to more efficiently design and manufacture custom slip ring parts for its customers.

“In these trying times, it’s important to help, even in small ways. UEA is proud to be able to work with Bremer County Emergency Management to help emergency service personnel in Bremer county,” said Daniel Hanawalt, UEA business development manager.

3D Printing Face Shields

UEA is supplying the 3D printed face shield headband along with the foam padding, and emergency management is installing the clear face shield and elastic band.

While UEA has limited capacity for 3D printing, UEA hopes to maximize their output and produce 10-20 face shields a day.
