At UEA, we care about our customers, employees, suppliers, community, and ourselves. Our employees are hardworking and dedicated. We strive to go above and beyond, have a “can-do” spirit, and expect personal integrity. UEA values employees who are creative problem solvers. We innovate, ask what if, are engaged, and know that a mistake does not mean failure. Finally, our organization values knowledge seekers to further our products and our processes, while paying attention to the details to get it right. These are the core values that UEA lives by.

At UEA, our core values are not something that we post on the wall or share in an interview, and then they disappear. Our core values are something we work hard to live out each day at all levels. Our core values are a part of recruiting, retention, recognition, and rewards.

To acknowledge those that are living out the UEA core values, we recognize employees every quarter by awarding core value t-shirts. Each quarter, UEA identifies up to five employees who have truly lived out one or more of the core values through their daily work efforts. This may be an employee who showed care by working with a customer on a special request, or it could be an employee who has gone above and beyond by collaborating on a project with people outside of their department. This could also be an employee who is using an innovative approach to a project that needs something creative or different to be successful.

In 2020, we have awarded thirteen core value awards with recipients from eight different departments at UEA, including assembly, hydraulics, engineering, shipping and receiving, and quality. At UEA, our core values are what move our organization forward, and all UEA employees are hired, fired, rewarded, and retained based on their embodiment of our core values. Our core values define UEA’s culture, and they are the driving principle of our organization.
