For the past several months, United Equipment Accessories (UEA) has had the fortunate challenge of increased sales. While this growth is welcomed and speaks volumes of our employees, products and the UEA way, it has been a challenge to keep pace with increased customer orders. October marked another record-breaking sales month for UEA.
As demand increases, the first area of impact is overtime. While overtime offers the quickest and easiest method to catch up, it is not the standard we want to set of our employees. We have been adding personnel resources all year and will continue to hire through the end of this year. Adding new team members is essential, but can also be time-consuming. It takes time to adequately train new hires to ensure they are providing the highest quality standards expected and understand the UEA way.
We’re not challenged with isolated growth either. Our hydraulic swivel business has, and continues to, grow at a very fast pace. In addition to new employees, our hydraulic team has another large machining center ordered to arrive in early 2019. This will be a welcome addition that is much needed and will immediately increase our capacity.
From increased growth in our wind turbine slip rings to normal sales for our construction and agricultural slip ring needs, we’re keeping busy with our UEA slip ring production! Slip rings for utility vehicles have been very strong all year and is expected to see another increase for 2019.

We also want to thank our incredibly dedicated employees who have continuously worked long days, weeks, and months this year to keep up with this challenging growth schedule.
Our goal is to get back to our standard lead times and the performance our customers have come to expect from UEA.
