United Equipment Accessories, Inc. (UEA) has won a five-year, $1.7 million contract to engineer and manufacture slip rings for Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This contract marks a key milestone for the company.

UEA custom-designed a slip ring solution to meet the unique technical requirements of the FAA radar application. The FAA awarded the firm fixed price material supply contract after an online solicitation process with three bids received.

“With the award of this federal radar slip ring production contract, UEA is progressing to the next phase of product development and technology. We hope to be awarded many more contracts for various applications in the future. UEA has partnered with Iowa State University Center for Industrial Research and Service (CIRAS) Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) to understand government bidding requirements. CIRAS government contracting specialist, Melissa Burant, worked with UEA sales director, Hemen Dattani, to help interpret the government’s requirements.
